The basic duties of an irrigator/technician will include, but are not limited to: clock programming, trenching, heads, valves, pipe replacement, wiring, and general problem identification. The ability to communicate with clients and supervisors is required. A clean driving record and the ability to process some paperwork is essential.

The outdoor work will expose you to temperature extremes from over 110 degrees in the summer to cold weather in the winter. Pollens, dust and fumes from chemicals, glues, automobiles and power equipment are present on a daily basis.

Must be licensed with the State of Texas for TECQ or must be able to pass TECQ State of Texas licensing test.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

See that assigned projects fulfill obligations spelled out by work orders or contracts.
Make purchases in the most cost efficient manner using proper authorization.
Perform irrigation parts inventory on a regular basis as dictated by manager.
Report on time to supervisors.
Follow established routine through work order or route.
Conform to dress and safety policies.
Submit all necessary paperwork - completed work orders, time sheets, various inspection reports, etc.
Review problems or day's accomplishments with supervisor.
Perform irrigation repairs consistent with industry standards or governing ordinances

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Dig and trench for an entire day.
Bend frequently to ground level.
Walk at a brisk pace when reviewing system.
Lift up to 80 lbs. from the ground to waist level

REQUIREMENTS

Valid Driver’s license with a clean MVR required.
